Rahul: Unlike Modi, I will work on my promise to change face of UP in 5 yrs


Bahraich (UP), February 25: As Uttar Pradesh gets ready for fifth phase of Assembly elections, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi addressed 3 rallies in Bahraich, Gonda and Sultanpur today. During this phase, 52 seats will go to polls.

Addressing an election rally in Bahraich on Saturday, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi continued his tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said Congress and SP would change the face of UP in five years.

Rahul slammed Modi for not fulfilling his promises. He said, PM Modi promises a lot, but doesn’t fulfil any of the promise ever.

Highlighting Modi’s constituency Varanasi, Congress leader said Modiji had promised to do many things here but nothing has happened in two and half years.

Citing ‘Made in Uttar Pradesh’ as focus of his Party, Rahul said, “On one hand PM Modi speaks of ‘Made in India’, but on the other hand, he imparts rich benefits to rich people.”

He said with Akhilesh I would work to change the state of Uttar Pardesh in five years. We would open new state of the art coaching centres for youth in Uttar Pradesh for free.

He added the alliance of Congress and SP would work for the development of the state.

He criticized Modi for having indifference to farmers’ plights and said I personally requested PM Modi to waive off farmers’ loans, but he refused to work on it.

He took a jibe on Modi for running one man show.

He said PM Modi introduced demonetisation without thinking about farmers, labours and small businessmen. No rich people was ever seen standing in lines outside banks and ATMs after demonetisation. He said after noteban farmers had suffered a lot.

He further alleged PM for spreading hatred among people and indulging in politics of divide.  However, Modi will fail in his efforts to divide the people of the state, said Rahul Gandhi.

He said PM Modi should focus on ‘Kaam ki Baat’ rather than ‘Mann ki Baat’.
