Rahul slams use of money for power; Says ideological fight with BJP to continue

New Delhi, March 14: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed BJP for using money to form government and polarising the voters.

Rahul outside the Parliament spoke to Media and said, “Our fight is against BJP’s ideology, what they did in Manipur and Goa is exactly the ideology we are fighting against.”

The statement came after Supreme Court had dismissed Congress plea to put stay on Parrikar’s swearing in as Goa Chief Minister. BJP is heading forward to form the government in Goa and Manipur despite being a runner-up.

The official handle of Rahul Gandhi also tweeted, “It is not about how soon they went, but with how much money the BJP went to steal the mandate of Goa & Manipur.”

He congratulated BJP for winning in UP and added, “Why they won- has multiple reasons, one being polarization.”

He added, “Out of 5 states, BJP won 2, we won 3. In 2 of the states we won democracy is being undermined by them (BJP), using financial power and money.”

Stating his role as a robust opposition, Rahul added, “Our fight with the BJP is an ideological one. We have won election in Punjab, Goa and Manipur, which is not a bad result at all. The BJP won Uttar Pradesh because of polarisation.”

This is the first reaction of Congress Vice President after the poll results of 5 states announced on March 11.
