Rahul reaches Mirzapur, addresses locals

Mirzapur, September 14: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi started his second phase of  ’25 day Deoria to Delhi Kisan Yatra’ today after a halt of 2 days for Id cebration and reached to Mirzapur today.

As this happened, people again took away the cots (Khats) after Rahul’s speech. This has happened before in Deoria when the locals took the Khats, laid by Congress, along with them after the Sabha ended. This time, it was in Mirzapur.

 

“The Kisan Yatra of Rahul Gandhi” began with the Khat Sabha at Madihan, where Gandhi interacted with the local farmers before holding a road show.

After the road show, he will go to take blessings from Vindhyavasini, one of the ‘Shaktipeets” located about 5km from Mirzapur town on the bank of Ganga. This has been one of the important centres of pilgrimage for Hindus.

Following the Road show, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will offer Chadar to Kantit Sharif which is located on the way to Vindhyachal Kantit Sharif. After that Mahapadyatra will depart towards Gopiganj in Bhadohi district, where he will also hold a road show and small meeting before going to Allahabad.

Before ending his first leg of yatra, Rahul said, “I want to tell you an important thing. The country made all-round progress in its journey of 70 years. The only reason behind it is that all people moved on path of progress collectively. Today Modi and RSS/BJP men are creating rift among the people on communal line”.

The first phase of Rahul’s Kisan Yatra which began from Deoria on September 6 and concluded in Ghazipur district on September 11 after crossing through Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, and Mau districts.
