Rahul Gandhi’s UP Mahayatra: 25th day, 26 roadshows, 700 meets, 75 lakh letters

Saharanpur, October 5: As Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi entered the last leg of his unfaltering 26 days long MahaKisanYatra from Deoria to Delhi today,  an unfathomable crowd gathered to meet Gandhi scion here in Saharanpur.

Terming the campaign as a platform to take farmers’ plea from the street to the Parliament, the congress spokesperson lauded how Gandhi has been welcomed by the crowd throughout.

The yatra would conclude tomorrow at Sansad Marg. According to the Congress spokesperson, after entering Delhi, Rahul Gandhi will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat.

Throughout the campaign Rahul Gandhi has highlighted 3 major demands to help the farmers:

1. To waive off farmers’ loans

2. To provide agriculture electricity at 50 % price

3. To provide better support price for crops.

On the final day of his Khat Sabha at Saharanpur he said, ‘ I do not want to restrict to only 3 demands of farmers. I want to change their life.’

He showcased a road map to change the face of Uttar Pradesh. He asked farmers, workers, people from all religions  to cast a vote to bring a government that would aid them bring the desired change.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi had tweeted that he tries to help a person fighting injustice irrespective of his caste or religion.

He further reiterated how PM Modi had lied to the nation by saying that he will bring Rs 15 Lakh to each person for votes. He lashed center for helping industrialists. He added that the Centre used three hundred percent of MANREGA Budget to help 15 influential people.

Rahul Gandhi also met Vice President of Muslim Personal Law Board in Deoband Maulana Saleem today.
