Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was taken into police custody, ahead of candle light march organized by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC).

Congress takes out candle-light march for ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal. He committed suicide by poisoning himself due to the delayed implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP).

As soon as Rahul Gandhi arrived at the site of the protest, he was detained for the third time in 24 hours by Delhi police. Son of Former Haryana CM and Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda from Rohtak was also detained along with Rahul.

Rahul Gandhi spoke to media and said “Have been inside car for past half an hour, not letting us out; not even taking us to Police Station” and said that “we were removed because of Sec144.”

According to media sources, due to security concerns, police escorted Rahul Gandhi away from the protest site.
