Uttar Pradesh, 27 May: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Raj Babbar, reached Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border, Saharanpur.
Gandhi was not allowed to go Shabirpur village due to the security reasons.
Rahul Gandhi addressed media in Saharanpur Uttar Pradesh saying that he was tried to stop at the border but efforts went in vain as he reached Saharanpur where he met Dalits and some villagers.
He talked about that the weaker section of society and especially Dalits who are being suppressed in all around the country.
Gandhi was asked to go back and visit the place after the situation becomes normal.

On the other side, Saharanpur borders were ordered to be sealed on Saturday to prevent Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi from visiting survivors of the caste violence that has hit the district.He headed to Saharanpur by road after his chopper was denied landing permission by the state administration as per the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s order to not allow political leaders from visiting Saharanpur.
On Friday, the Uttar Pradesh government denied permission to Gandhi to visit the violence-hit villages of Saharanpur district.
The permission was denied in the view of the state policy of keeping the region out of bounds for leaders until the situation returns to normal.
The state government’s move comes after the violence in Saharanpur raised with the visit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati earlier this week.
Former union minister Kumar Shailja and senior Congress leader P.L. Punia were denied permission to visit Saharanpur.
