New Delhi, Dec 23: Congress President Rahul Gandhi commenced his 3 -day three-day Gujarat tour by offering prayers at the Somnath Temple on Saturday.
This is Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to Gujrat after assembly elections result.
After his temple visit, Gandhi was in the financial capital Ahmedabad, where he held talks with all the newly-elected MLAs, leaders and party workers.

Gandhi also met Congress rebel, Bhupenrasinh Khant, who won as an Independent from Morva Hadaf constituency, after the party denied him a ticket to contest. For Khant, who has now rejoined the party, it was a ‘Ghar Vapsi’. He had won the election, beating the BJP rival and Congress candidate Brijesh Merja. With his return, the Congress tally in the assembly has risen to 78, news agency IANS reported.
In the evening he will address party workers at Gujarat University Convention Hall at GNBC Ground in Ahmedabad.
