Rahul Gandhi launches Congress campaign in Rajasthan with Jaipur roadshow

Jaipur, Aug 11 : Congress president Rahul Gandhi has launched his party’s election campaign in poll bound Rajasthan on Saturday by responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi  with evidence of fact sheet that BJP has fueled violence against Dalits and Advasis.

Rahul   started his road show in a specially designed bus and thereafter he will address leaders and party workers from 33 districts at Jaipur’s Ramlila ground.

Rahul Gandhi, who is in Rajasthan , took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Mr 56’s best buddy, asked me to “check my facts” when I said the BJP fuels violence against Dalits & Adivasis. Upbeat over the the party’s victory in the bypolls as Congress clinched two Lok Sabha and one state Assembly seats in bypolls in February,  Rahul Gandhi is likely to urge state unit chief Sachin Pilot and former chief minister Ashok Gehlot to work collectively to defeat Bhartiya Janata Party in the upcoming elections.

According to AICC general secretary Avinash Pande, Rahul Gandhi will discuss the roadmap and strategy for the polls and guide the party leaders and workers during his visit.

Rahul Gandhi  was given grand welcome during his  13-kilometre road show at over 14 points from Jaipur airport to Ramlila ground.   Congress workers on motorcycles have been asked to wear helmets during the three hour road show.

Congress has planned a grand welcome for Gandhi on his first Assembly election-related visit to Rajasthan. Elephants, camels, horses and bands are scheduled to give Rahul Gandhi a grand welcome.

Rahul will carry out a roadshow through the city of Jaipur and along the way will stop at two of the city’s more famous temples. He will seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh and Govind Devji and then move on to Jaipur’s Ramleela Maidan, where he will address party workers and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) delegates from across the state,” Pankaj Mehta, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) General Secretary said.
