Rahul Hugs Modi

New Delhi, July 20: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday stunned the country when he walked across the aisle and hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha after launching a scathing attack against the BJP led NDA government during the no-confidence motion debate.

Gandhi concluded his aggressive speech saying “I have not an iota of hatred or hard feelings against you. You hate me, I may be ‘Pappu’ for you. But I love you and respect you because I am the Congress (Aap logon ke andar mere liye nafrat hai, aap mujhe Pappu aur bohot gaaliyan dekar bula sakte hain, lekin mere andar aapke liye nafrat nahi hai).

He then walked across the aisle and hugged Modi who was also taken by surprise.

Modi, a little taken aback at first, called Gandhi back and shook hands with him with a pat on his back.

The Congress President cornered Modi government on host of issues ranging from  Demonetisation to the false promises made to people.

As the opposition members of parliament gave the Congress President a standing ovation and thumped their desks, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said such conduct was against the rules of the House.
