New Delhi, Feb 13: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report does not mention dissent note of negotiators.

“CAG report does not mention dissent note of negotiators, I don’t think its worth the paper its written on”, said Gandhi at a press conference.

He questioned if there is no scam in Rafale deal, then why the Bharatiya Janata Party is fearing the Joint Parliamentary Committee probe.

Did the Supreme Court have access to the dissent recorded by 3 negotiators from the Negotiating Team? This is a government paper”.

“Here stand demolished, the 2 pillars on which the entire government’s argument for the new deal are based. The only reason for the new deal is to give Rs 30,000 Crore to Industralist Anil Ambani”.

The Congress leader further stated “the final price offered by the French govt which is escalation-based is 55.6% above benchmark, which is for firm and fixed price. Considering the future escalation till the time of delivery, final price would further increase”.

“The fact of the matter is, the new deal signed by PM Modi gets India the aircrafts later than the original deal”, he added.
