New Delhi, Sep 16: PV Sindhu defeated China’s He Bingjiao in the to reach in finals of Korea Open Super Series.
Sindhu is just one step away to clinch the title. She will face Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in final .
Sindhu, who has an Olympic and Worlds silver medal, had a tough challenge in the semi-final takes the final set 21-16, and wins in 66 minutes – 21-10,17-21,21-16. This means we will have a recap of the sensational World Championship final tomorrow when Sindhu will face off against Okuhara!
Sindhu thus set up a mouth-watering clash with Japan’s Okuhara, her nemesis at the recent World Championship final which saw the two battle for an hour and 50 minutes at Glasgow last month.
Sindhu had come into the match with a 3-5 head to head count, having lost to the Chinese at the Asia Badminton Championship in April this year.
Earlier, Sindhu too had a tough fight in quarter-final where she faced world number 19 Minatsu Mitani of Japan. The Indian managed to beat her 21-19 16-21 21-10 in a match that lasted 63 minutes.
