Punjab Elections 2017: Sidhu to contest from Amritsar for Congress


Jan 5: Ahead of Punjab polls, the Congress party on Thursday informed that Navjot Singh Sidhu will contest in the upcoming Punjab assembly elections as a party nominee.

Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress state President Captain Amarinder Singh told the reporters that “Navjot Singh Sidhu will contest from the constituency of his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu.”

“Sidhu will contest from Amritsar (East) seat as a Congress nominee,” Singh said.

Earlier on 14th September 2016: Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
