Punjab Congress passes resolution to elevate Rahul Gandhi as AICC Chief


New Delhi, Oct 13: The  Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) on Friday unanimously passed a resolution to appoint Rahul Gandhi as the next president of the AICC. 

Gandhi is currently serving as party Vice President and his mother Sonia Gandhi is the president.

The PPCC came up with this decision in a meeting chaired by chief minister Captian Amarinder Singh.

The meeting was attended by all the senior leaders including  Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar, Kumari Selja, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Brahm Mahindra and others.

Till the date eight  states have issued proposals to elevate Rahul Gandhi as the next chief of the  All India Congress Committee (AICC), including Delhi , Haryana , Himachal Pradesh and others.

However, as per the speculations Gandhi is expected to be elevated post Diwali.
