New Delhi, Feb16: The nation is paying tributes to our brave CRPF jawans who lost their life in Pulwama terror attack.

The bodies of the martyred soldiers killed in an attack by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday begin arriving at their native places on Saturday morning.

Last evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal paid tributes to the 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers as their bodies arrived at the Palam airport.

PM Modi and the other leaders laid the wreath on the coffins, wrapped in the national flag.

US National Security Adviser John Bolton has told Indian counterpart Ajit Doval yesterday that America supports India’s right to self-defence after they discussed the Pulwama attack. “I told Ajit Doval today that we support India’s right to self-defence.

I have spoken to him twice, including this morning… and expressed US’ condolences over the terrorist attack,” he told news agency PTI. The centre has decided to take all possible diplomatic steps to ensure Pakistan’s isolation and had withdrawn “Most Favoured Nation” status to the country.

Meanwhile, India has rejected Pakistan Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua’s claims denying her country’s links to the Pulwama terror attack, saying that JeM, which claimed responsibility for the attack on Thursday, is based in Pakistan, and the “links are clear and evident and for all to see”.

The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson on Friday termed as “preposterous” the demand for an investigation, saying there is a video of the suicide bomber declaring himself a member of the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

The spokesperson said India has not seen any constructive approach from Pakistan on bilateral relations and it has been sheltering terrorists and terror organisations such as JeM. He said Islamabad has not taken any action against such groups despite international demands.

India also demanded that Pakistan take immediate and verifiable action against terrorists and terror groups operating from territories under its control to create a conducive atmosphere in the region free of terror.
