Chandigarh, July 10: Opposition’s presidential candidate Meira Kumar on Sunday canvassed votes of Punjab and Haryana
lawmakers for country’s top post.
“My fight is for ideology. I appeal to all MLAs and MPs to cast their votes as per their conscience,” Meira Kumar told media
persons here after seeking votes from legislators.
Senior Congress leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar was accompanied by party leader Asha Kumari, who is in
the charge of Congress affairs in Punjab.
However, Congress is in power in Punjab while it is opposition in Haryana.
After meeting Haryana’s former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and other Congress leaders including Kiran Chaudhary, and
Ashok Tanwar, met legislators and leaders from Punjab.
