New Delhi, July 2 : Opposition’s candidate Meira Kumar and her rival Ram Nath Kovind would visit Hyderabad this week to seek support for the upcoming presidential election which is scheduled to be held on July 17.
As per the sources, Kumar would arrive on Monday, while Kovind’s visit is slated for Tuesday.
According to her schedule released by the party, Kumar would be meeting Congress leaders at Gandhi Bhavan, Telangana Congress headquarters, followed by a press conference.
Kumar would also garland a statue of her father late Jagjivan Ram and interact with MPs, MLAs and MLCs, Left party leaders, senior journalists and intellectuals.
Meanwhile, NDA’s pick Kovind, who is scheduled to visit Hyderabad on July 4 would hold talks with MPs and MLAs of the ruling TRS, opposition BJP and Telangana TDP.
After filing their nomination the contesting candidates are visiting several states to grab support from legislators.
