New Delhi, Jan 25: President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in India on Friday for the Republic Day celebrations.
President Ramaphosa was received by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on his maiden visit to India after assuming office-accompanied by First Lady and a high-level delegation.
He is the second South African President after Nelson Mandela to be the Chief Guest at the parade.
President Ramaphosa accorded ‘guard of honour’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan, following this paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in the national capital.
Later in a day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ramaphosa will hold delegation level talks on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
