New Delhi, Sep 1 : RSS veterans have been appointed as Governors of various states while senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra, who is Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Rajasthan.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan press communique was issued informing about the appointments of new governor for various states.

RSS veteran Koshyari served as National Vice President of BJP and party’s 1st State president for Uttarakhand. He also served as 2nd Chief Minister of Uttarakhand (formerly Uttaranchal) from 2001 to 2002.
Bandaru Dattatreya, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, who was imprisoned during the Emergency, has been appointed as Governor of Himachal . In 1991, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad constituency for the first time.
Arif Mohammed Khan has been appointed as the Kerala governor in place of P Sathasivam. Khan had earlier quit the Rajiv Gandhi government over the Shah Bano case and has been cited many times by BJP in triple talaq debates.
Khan said, “It is an opportunity to serve. Fortunate to be born in a country like India which is so vast and rich in diversity. It is a great opportunity for me to know this part of India, which forms boundary of India and is called god’s own country.”
