Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi leader Prakash Ambedkar lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his visit to a Matua shrine in Bangladesh, during the Assembly elections in West Bengal.

“Shame ! Prime Minister in order to win Bengal elections is now wooing the Matua community in Bangladesh by postering before Matua’s holy shrine. Has Modi ever bowed down to SC saint Ravidas? Just Vote Rajniti,” the VBLA leader said on Twitter.

On Saturday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also alleged that the prime minister’s speech at the Matua temple at Orakandi in Bangladesh was with an eye on elections in West Bengal.

The TMC supremo also alleged that Modi violated the model code of conduct through his speech at the temple, holy to the Matua community spread over India and Bangladesh. However, Modi in his speech at the temple had not made any election promises.
