New Delhi, Dec 20: India and China will hold the annual meeting of their Special Representatives over their border row here on Friday.
The External Affairs Ministry on Wednesday announced that National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will be India’s Special Representative at the 20th Meeting of the Special Representatives, China will be represented by Yang Jiechi, State Councillor, and a Communist Party Politburo member, news agency IANS reported.
Indian and Chinese troops were locked in a standoff earlier this year in Doklam region near the India-China-Bhutan trijunction.
Earlier this month, the Doklam issue was also discussed during a meeting between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi here.
The last Special Representatives’ meeting took place in Beijing in April 2016.
