Police denied permission to PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi to hold roadshows in Ahmedabad


Prime minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow in Ahmedabad on 12th December has been denied permission by police, citing law and order situation in the area .

Pointing out the Election Commission’s guidelines, the police said the roadshows would have created law and order problems.

Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad, Anup Kumar Singh told ANI,”Request by BJP & Congress for conducting PM Modi & Rahul Gandhi’s road show tomorrow, turned down by Police due to security, law & order reasons & to avoid public inconvenience.”
Meanwhile, both leaders have been allowed to hold public meetings.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) H R Muliyana told The Indian Express that BJP has sought perimssion for roadshow from Dharnidhar Derasar to Bapu Nagar whereas Congress asked for a permission of roadshow from Jagannath temple to Menco area.
