Lucknow, Jan 2, 2017: Ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address a Maha Parivartan rally on Monday in Lucknow.
He is expected to follow up Saturday’s farmer and poor-focused sops with some more big ticket announcements ahead of crucial assembly elections in the state.
The Ramabai Sthal rally would be also addressed by BJP president Amit Shah and Union Home Minister and local MP Rajnath Singh.
Meanwhile, the BJP has claimed to see an attendance of over 10 lakh people — double the capacity of the 80-acre ground.
The party has also invited around 1.28 lakh booth level workers, whom it plans to mobilise to turn public opinion in its favour for the forthcoming state assembly polls.
This would be the first Modi rally in the state after the 50-day deadline on December 30, post the November 8 demonetisation announcement, got over.
Elections dates are expected to be announced any day and with that, a model code of conduct will be in force which prohibits the announcement of sops or new schemes and policies.
