Lucknow, April 16: Railways has suspended four employees after tickets with the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi printed on them.
“A total of four people have been suspended by DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) Lucknow. Besides two reservation clerks, one Chief Reservation Supervisor and a Commercial Inspector have also been suspended”, news agency ANI reported.
“On 13 April, when shift changes, the old roll was mistakenly used. 2 employees suspended, dept probe underway”, ADM told media.
Earlier, also the Railways was under cloud for carrying Prime Minister Modi’s picture on tickets and the slogan of “Main Bhi Chowkidar” on teacups.
After the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came in to force on March 10 ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Railways had decided to withdraw tickets with PM Modi’s photo.
The slogan of “Main Bhi Chowkidar” on teacups with pictures of the Prime Minister were also distributed on train. However, the cups were later withdrawn by the vendor who was responsible for serving tea onboard.
