Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Noida’s sector 62 on April 5 to distribute e-rickshaws to 5,100 people and inaugurate Bhartiya Micro Credit programme.
N P Singh, district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, said the administration has received a letter from the Union finance ministry about the Prime Minister’s proposed visit to Noida. “The PM will inaugurate a programme on Micro Credit and also provide financial assistance to some people. We have directed the officials of concerned departments to prepare for the programme,” he said.
The e-rickshaws will be financed by Mudra Bank. An office has been set up for this purpose in Sector 4 where the interested people can go and submit their identity card along with an address proof and get an e-rickshaw without having to deposit any security. The owners will have to pay Rs 235 per day to the bank for two years as instalment. And having a bank account is not necessary as under the programme bank accounts will be opened for those who do not have one.
Officials are expecting thousands of people to attend the event.
