PM Modi to launch drinking water supply projects in Uttar Pradesh

The total estimated cost of the projects is Rs 5,555.38 Crore. The projects are planned to be completed in 24 months.

New Delhi, Nov 20: Giving a further impetus to his pet project, PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of rural drinking water supply projects in Vindhyachal region of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, through video conferencing.

The projects are in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts of Vindhyachal region of the northern state. The projects will provide household tap water connections in all rural households of 2,995 villages, which will benefit about 42 lakh individuals living in these districts.

The Prime Minister will also interact with Village Water & Sanitation Committee or Paani Samiti members, during the event. They have been constituted in all these villages, who will shoulder the responsibility of operation and maintenance.

The total estimated cost of the projects is Rs 5,555.38 Crore. The projects are planned to be completed in 24 months.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also join the video conference.

New Delhi, Jan 25 : Central Reserve Police Force, Director General AP Maheshwari wished the countrymen on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day.

He further informed that CRPF has provided 45 companies to Delhi Police of which are 13 companies are of Rapid Action Force. DG AP Maheshwari said, “On the occasion of Republic Day, I would like to wish all the countrymen on behalf of CRPF. We have developed a new technology by inducting night vision and day vision device which is called fusion monocular. This assists the soldiers in a clear vision during both day and night time.

Lalu Prasad ‘stable and recovering’, to undergo CT scan

Incarcerated RJD President Lalu Prasad will undergo a CT scan on Friday to ascertain his exact health condition even as a senior officer said he was “stable and recovering”.

An official at the Hotwar jail in Ranchi said that the former Bihar Chief Minister’s health had caused concern after he complained of uneasiness in breathing on Thursday evening. Subsequently, a team of doctors from Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences examined the RJD leader.

Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta also rushed to the RIMS and met with the doctors treating the veteran politician. Jharkhand Inspector General of Police (Jails) Birendra Bhushon said that Lalu Prasad’s health had deteriorated on Thursday but was now “recovering and stable”. Earlier, Lalu Prasad also underwent a Covid test and was found negative.

Lalu Prasad is suffering from kidney ailment, besides diabetes and high blood pressure. The RIMS doctors have diagnosed that his kidneys are damaged to the extent of 75 per cent. Doctors could go for a dialysis if his kidneys’ functioning deteriorated further.
