PM Modi should declare an emergency in country: Shiv Sena on Snooping Order

Mumbai, Dec 22: Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the home ministry order allowing ten agencies to monitor any computer resource saying “PM should officially declare that there is an emergency in the country”.

“Instead of issuing such notifications, Modi ji should just officially declare that there is an emergency in the country”, Kayande told news agency ANI.

On December 20, the MHA issued an order allowing ten central agencies to intercept, monitor and decrypt “any information generated, transmitted, received or stored in any computer resource”.

Among the institutions that have been authorised to access any computer system, are “the Intelligence Bureau, Narcotics Control Bureau, the Enforcement Directorate, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Central Bureau of Investigation, National Investigation Agency, Cabinet Secretariat (RAW), Directorate of Signal Intelligence (For service areas of Jammu & Kashmir, North-East and Assam only), and the Commissioner of Police, Delhi.
