Prime Minister Narendra Modi leaves for Laos on Wednesday, for his two-day visit to attend the annual India-ASEAN and East Asia summits in connection to enhance physical and digital connectivity with the South East Asian nations
The Summits will be attended by Heads of State of the 10 ASEAN and 18 East Asia Summit Participating Countries.
“Our strategic partnership with ASEAN is also important for safeguarding and promoting our security interests and countering traditional and non-traditional security challenges in the region,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
At the 14th ASEAN-India Summit, Modi and ASEAN Leaders will review ASEAN-India cooperation and discuss its future direction under each of the three pillars of politico-security, economic and socio-cultural cooperation.
Modi said that he will have the opportunity to interact with the leaders of participating countries to discuss bilateral issues of mutual concern.
