New Delhi, Dec 4: Addressing an Election rally in Bhavnagar of Gujarat attacked Congress and said, “I am seeing videos of Congress supporters saying, vote for Congress on 9th and 14th and then we will do ‘Dadagiri’ for 5 years. This is not the Gujarat that the people desire.”

“I appeal to the Congress to stick to the truth. The people of Gujarat do not like poll time lollipops and false promises of the Congress” he added.

Earlier Prime Minister Narender Modi on Monday addressed an election rally in Dharampur of Gujarat.

Addressing a public meeting in Dharampur constituency in Gujarat, Modi said, “Mani Shankar Aiyar, who never shies away from showing loyalty to one family, proudly said — When Shah Jahan came in the place of Jahangir did any elections happen? And when Aurangzeb came in place of Shah Jahan did any election happen? It was known to everyone that the throne of the king will automatically go the son,” Modi said.

“I congratulate the Congress on their ‘Aurangzeb Raj.’ For us, the wellbeing of the people matters and 125 crore Indians are our high command,” he said.

He also said that the Congress leaders admit that it is not a party but a kunba (family).

The second-phase of polling for the 182-seats-Gujarat assembly will be on December 14. The counting of votes will take place on December 18.

On Sunday Modi was in Bharuch where he addressed a rally and took a jibe at the Congress for opposing the bullet train project.

Continuing his two-day visit to the state, on Monday, he will visit Dharmapur in Valsad district and then he will be in Saurashtra’s Bhavnagar, Junagadh and Jamnagar.

Gujarat has been under the Bharatiya Janata Party-rule for the last 22 years.
