Priyanka Nick wedding

Mumbai, Dec 4: Finally, the wait is over! Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra and Amercian Singer Nick Jonas’ fairytale wedding pictures are out and Priyanka is looking “breathtaking” in her traditional red Indian wedding outfit.

Priyanka took to her Instagram to share the wedding picture which read, ”And forever starts now…..Nick Jonas”.

The picture shows beautiful bride in a red lehenga with hubby Nick in a golden sherwani from the couple’s Hindu wedding.

Another photo shows Priyanka in a pristine white Ralph Lauren wedding dress. She is joined by Nick, who is also wearing a custom suit by the designer. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen are also dressed in outfits by Ralph Lauren.

The couple’s pictures were shared by People magazine and they also feature on its cover.  Priyanka-Nick first exchanged vows in a Christian ceremony officiated by the groom’s father here on December 1.

She married Nick in a traditional Hindu ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, after three days of wedding celebrations which included a colourful Mehendi ceremony, a friendly cricket match and a power-packed ‘desi’ musical evening.

Marking their union here was the Jodhpur sky lit up with fireworks. However, Priyanka was widely trolled for it as around Diwali, she had urged people not to burst firecrackers due to the health hazards it leads to. As a result, she was called out for her “double standards”.

Nevertheless, their fans were swooning over some of the tidbits they shared of the ‘#NickYanka’ pre-wedding ceremonies.

At the ‘mehendi’ ceremony, Priyanka sported a breathtaking multi-hued folksy Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga, channelling the ‘desi’ look in every which way, while Nick sported an aqua kurta by the same designers.

They also incorporated a friendly cricket match, competing as “team bride vs team groom”.

As for the sangeet, a video and photographs shared by Priyanka suggest it was no less than a Bollywood awards night complete with a stage, elaborate light set-up and props as well as energetic performances.

Priyanka Nick Sangeet

It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love.  Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual.. and to see what each side had put together. And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. It is an amazing start to a lifetime of togetherness for our families and friends…#grateful @nickjonas 📹/📷: @calebjordanlee @josevilla @josephradhik

The couple first began talking in 2016 via Twitter, and met in person for the first time at a party for the Academy Awards in 2017.

A successful Bollywood star, Priyanka made a transition to American showbiz as the lead in crime drama “Quantico”, eventually landing a role in the “Baywatch” film.

Nick and his brothers Kevin and Joe are known for having formed a pop-rock band, The Jonas Brothers, in 2005. The band split up in 2013.

Mumbai, Jan 19: Actor Shahid Kapoor says he and his wife Mira have a different approach when it comes to parenting. He says she tells him to calm down a bit when it comes to their two children, while he feels she is “too casual”.

Shahid opened up about his married life, parenting, his film career and more on an upcoming episode of “Famously Filmfare Season 2”, to go live on Colors Infinity, Colors Infinity HD, Voot and Jio on Sunday, read a statement.

On being asked if being protective about his children was a ripple effect of his parent’s separation, Shahid said: “My wife tells me that I am a little obsessive and protective and that I need to calm down a little bit. I tell her that she is too casual. Having said that, we try and find the middle ground which I think is good for the kids because you need to have both types of parents.

“If both are too obsessive or both are too careless I don’t think that works, so you need to find that balance.”

Shahid and Mira got married in 2015. They have a daughter named Misha and son named Zain.

Moving away from centrestage is heartbreaking for any actor: Abhishek Bachchan

Mumbai, Jan 19: Actor Abhishek Bachchan’s last few movies before his sabbatical that ended with “Manmarziyaan” were majorly second leads in big budget movies. He says it’s heartbreaking for any actor who has been at centrestage to move away.

Asked how much of a problem it is to stand behind a bigger star, he told filmmaker and “Koffee With Karan” host Karan Johar: “It is heartbreaking to any actor who has been centrestage to be shadowed by another actor in the lead.”

“The industry is a brutal place. I don’t think anyone is entitled to say that I am who I am so I deserve this. No, you have to earn it. Moving from centre to left is heartbreaking but you have to use that hurt to inspire yourself to get back into the centre again.”

In the upcoming episode of “Koffee with Karan”, to be aired on Star World on Sunday, Abhishek was joined on the couch by his sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda, a statement said.

Last year, Abhishek was seen in “Manmarziyaan”, which came two years after he featured in “Housefull 3”. He says his sabbatical from the industry was a result of a self-realisation about complacency towards his work.

Karan asked Abhishek: “Is there a reason you took this backseat from cinema, did you feel the pressure of what was happening in your career, that’s why?”

Abhishek replied: “It’s tricky Karan. I don’t think it was the pressure of what was happening. Rather it was more about my approach towards my work which I thought was incorrect. I was becoming very complacent and comfortable.”

“To call a spade a spade, I was part of huge films, huge budgets, huge stars, huge collections, everything was hunky dory. I had no pressure on me because I was standing behind somebody else who takes all the pressure. I was making lots of money and so were those films…it became very easy. I didn’t come to industry to stand behind anyone,” he added.
