August 31: Fuel prices was increased on Friday as Price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 85.93/litre (increase by Rs 0.21/litre) and Diesel can be purchased today at Rs 74.54/litre (increase by Rs 0.30/litre). This is the sixth consecutive day of petrol and diesel hike by the oil marketing companies.
In Mumbai : Petrol is retailing at Rs 85.93 per litre a hike of 21 paise from yesterday.
Kolkata: Petrol is priced at Rs. 81.44 for one litre
Chennai: Rs. 81.60 per litre
The revised rates are applicable from 6 am on August 31, 2018.
AS per reports, hike in fuel prices is likely to continue next week as well. Motorists can expect to pay more for a tank of petrol next month. The surge in fuel prices is largely attributed to the recent rise in crude oil cost and the high excise duty levied on transportation fuel in the country. Another factor which contributed to the hike is the dip in rupee value.
Price of petrol in Delhi at Rs 78.52/litre (increase by Rs 0.22/litre) and price of Diesel at Rs 70.21/litre (increase by Rs 0.28/litre).
Fuel rates have been on the rise since August 16 after the rupee dipped to its lowest value against the US dollar.
On Thursday,petrol being sold at Rs 78.30 per litre in Delhi and at Rs 85.72 per litre in Mumbai, as per the data provided by the Indian Oil Corporation.
