People’s Conference worker shot dead in Kashmir


Srinagar, Oct 12, 2016: Unidentified militant shot dead a worker of the Jammu and Kashmir’s ruling coalition partner, Peoples Conference in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday and succumbed to his injuries in hospital, police said.

A police official said that “Gulam Nabi Khoja was shot at outside his residence at Kralgund in Handwara tehsil today (Wednesday) evening. He was shifted to the hospital in a serious condition where he succumbed.”

The party is headed by Sajad Lone who is a minister in the Peoples Democratic Party-Bharatiya Janata Party government. Lone represents the Handwara constituency in the state assembly.
