New Delhi, April 27: Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday said the poor among the upper caste should get 15 per cent reservation.
“Our party’s motto is power to the poor besides secularism and communal harmony. There are many people in the upper caste who are poor and do not have work to do. So I have demanded 15 per cent reservation should be given to them,” Paswan told reporters on the sidelines of the party’s labour cell convention.
There should be unemployment allowances for those without work, he added.
Paswan also said that outsourcing of government work was stripping the protected communities of the reservation benefits.
