Pakistan refuses to reciprocate, says India can’t interrogate JeM Chief Azhar

With a hope that India’s action will be reciprocated  by Pakistan ,National Investigation Agency  asked  Pakistani Joint Investigation Team on the Pathankot airbase terror attack, that they want access  to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar and his brother Rauf to which they denied.

NIA chief Sharad Kumar said his team would want to visit Bahawalpur in Pakistan where the Jaish-e-Mohammad is headquartered as they believes that JeM chief  is the mastermind behind the Pathankot attack. But Pakistani Joint Investigation Teamrefused to reciprocate by saying that ” We are here to investigate the invovement of the jaish  but the trial will be conducted in a pakistani court  and where is the need for granting India access to Masood Azhar.”

Pakistani Joint Investigation Team began recording the statements of the witnesses in the Pathankot terror attack case including Punjab police officer Salvinder Singh, his friend, cook Madan Gopal, caretaker of a shrine the officer had visited in the run up to the attack, and officers who had carried out investigations .

Pakistani JIT headed by Additional Inspector General of Police, Counter Terrorism Department, Muhammad Tahir Rai, and also including ISI’s Lt Col Tanvir Ahmed, was handed over 300 questions by the NIA .Pakistan JIT has shared the details of their investigation with NIA and even requested for more evidence from NIA to take action against all perpetrators.

While sharing evidence against JeM,NIA has given enough evidence to Pakistan JIT to prove that the perpetrators were training in Pakistan and  JeM terrorists crossed the border with huge ammunition. Sarad Kumar confirmed the preventive detention of some JeM members in Pakistan.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh said Pakistan has for the first time acknowledged that the terror attack in Pathankot had its roots in that country and filed an FIR.

He said the Pakistani probe team has come to India and our team is going to Pakistan.

Singh gave credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s astute and positive political capability. He said, all the countries of the world are acknowledging that India’s strength is increasing.

The NIA has sought the voice samples of Maulana Masood Azhar and his brother besides details of Al Rehmat Trust run by the JeM.
