The Indian Army carried out its surgical operation and killed terrorists. The operation was carried out to end the infiltration.
During the surgical strike, two Pakistani soldiers died along with 38 terrorists.
After DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and Indian Army’s statements regarding the same got all over the news, the Pakistani officials and media claimed that the Pakistani Army is denying the surgical strikes.
Pakistan said that India, across the LOC, did not conduct a “surgical strike” but claimed that the incident was “cross-border fire.”
“The notion of surgical strike linked to alleged terrorists’ bases is an illusion being deliberately generated by India to create false effects,” the Pakistani military said.
The statement further added, “As per rules of engagement same was strongly and befittingly responded by Pakistani troops.”
Nawaz Sharif Reacts
After India announced that it took out surgical operation across on the Pakistani soil in POK, on Wednesday night, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the same and said it was an “unprovoked and naked aggression” by Indian forces.
Radio Pakistan quoted Sharif as saying that the Indian operation led to the death of two Pakistani soldiers.
“Our intent for peaceful neighbourhood should not be mistaken as our weakness as our valiant forces are fully capable of defending the territorial integrity of our country,” the Pak PM said.
He said Pakistan can “thwart any evil design made to undermine the sovereignty of Pakistan”.
Pakistani Media claims the opposite
Pakistani news portal published articles denying the claims by Indian Army for a surgical strike.
DAWN published an article with a headline: “Army rubbishes Indian ‘surgical strikes’ claim as two Pakistani soldiers killed at LoC”
Geo TV did the same: “Pakistan denies Indian claims of surgical strike, two Pakistani soldiers embrace martyrdom: ISPR”
ARY: “Pakistan rejects Indian claim of ‘surgical strikes’ along LoC”
These statements and articles were released shortly after DGMO said India had hit suspected militants preparing to infiltrate into Kashmir.
