Pakistan: 32 killed in Quetta Blast

Balochistan, July 25: At least 32 people were killed on Wednesday in a blast near eastern bypass in Quetta.

While 40 injured in the explosion outside a crowded polling station.

The Balochistan bombing targeted the convoy of Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdul Razzaq Cheema near a polling station. It left 31 persons, including some policemen, dead. The senior police official escaped unhurt, Geo News reported.

The attack took place as millions of voters queued up across Pakistan to elect a new government.

A police spokesperson to Geo TV that the suicide bomber wanted to enter the polling station.

The suicide bomber blew himself up when police and FC personnel stopped him from entering the station,” he said.

In the wake of the general election, the border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Chaman, Balochistan was closed by the government on Tuesday for two days.
