Pak violates ceasefire in J&K’s Poonch, Indian Army retaliates

Jammu, Sep 27, 2017: Pakistan on Wednesday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources said Pakistan Army used mortars, small weapons and automatics to target Indian positions in Shahpur and Balakote areas.

“Indian troops are effectively and strongly retaliating. Till last reports came in firing exchanges were going on between the two sides,” police sources said.

Meanwhile, a minor explosion took place in a garbage dump near bus stand at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar. Police and Army are investigating the cause of the blast.
