Jammu, Oct 4, 2016: Pakistani rangers once again violated ceasefire in the Kalsian village of Naushera sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
According to Police, after violating ceasefire, Pakistan rangers resorted to heavy mortar shelling on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu region.
“Pakistan Army has started indiscriminate heavy shelling on the LoC at Jhangar, Kalsian and Makri areas of Nowshera sector,” a senior police official said here.
According to the official, the shells have fallen close to civilian areas.
Indian Army has been responding appropriately and no loss of life has so far been reported. However, The police said that shelling and fire exchanges still continue on the LoC at Jhangar.
This is the sixth such occurrence of violation since India conducted surgical strikes along the LoC on September 28 and destroyed six to eight militants launch pads which were operation in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Earlier on Monday, Pakistan forces had violated ceasefire in Gurdaspur, Poonch and Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
