Jammu, November 2: Pakistani troopers yet again resorted to cease fire violation today and shelled areas along the LoC in Bhimber Gali sector of Rajouri district.
The Defence PRO said, “There was unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in BG sector from 1230 hours today.”
He further said, automatic weapons and lobbed 82 mm mortar bombs were used by them and Indian troops gave a befitting reply.
The latest unprovoked shelling from pakistan comes a day after 8 civilians were killed and 22 others injured by cross border shelling and firing. Later on, BSF also claimed that 14 Pakistani Posts were destroyed in retaliatory action by its troops along International Border (IB) in Ramgarh and Arnia sectors of Jammu frontier after the killing of Indian people.
However after the severe combat of yesterday, no reports of firing and shelling were reported during the night.
“No firing incident was reported on IB of Jammu since night,” PRO BSF said.
Due to relentless shelling from cross border, Jammu and Kashmir government shut down over 400 schools along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) for indefinite period.
Since surgical strikes conducted by Indian side on September 29 on terror launch pads located in PoK, a 18 people, including 12 civilians, have been killed and more than 80 had suffered injuries in Pakistani shelling and firing along border.
