New Delhi, Jan 25: Much-awaited, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat releases in threaters on Thursday across the country.
With the movie hitting screens, security has been beefed up in several states including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, in the wake of violence by agitators.

Despite the Supreme court ruling in favour of Padmaavat , protesters have not backed down as they believe that the film distorts history and depicts Rani Padmini, a legendary Rajput Queen renowned for her beauty, in poor light.
Violent protests have been reported from various parts of country on Wednesday.

In a particularly disturbing incident in Haryana’s Gurugram, a mob attacked a school bus with children with sticks and stones.
