Owaisi opposes Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s appointment as mediator

New Delhi, March 8: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday opposed inclusion of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in the mediation panel of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title dispute case.

“Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who has been appointed a mediator had earlier made a statement ‘if muslims don’t give up their claim on Ayodhya,India will become Syria’, “, Owaisi told media.

“It would’ve been better if SC had appointed a neutral person”, he added.

On Friday, the Supreme Court decided to send the Ayodhya title suit to a panel of mediators.

The panel which will be headed by retired SC Judge FM I Kalifulla also includes Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and senior advocate Sriram Panchu.
