Owaisi asks BJP to change Amit Shah’s Persian surname


Hyderabad, Nov 12 : Targeting BJP President, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said when the Bharatiya Janata Party will be changing the surname of Amit Shah? as his surname comes from a Persian word.

“Shah is a Persian word…will they change it or not… don’t know,” the Hyderabad MP said while addressing an election campaign on Sunday evening for the December 7 assembly polls.

There is a growing clamour to change the names of more cities. Bharatiya Janata Party lawmakers in Uttar Pradesh Jagan Prasad Garg demanded that Agra be renamed as “Agravan” or “Agrawal”..Controversial BJP leader Sangeet Som has again reiterated demand to change the name of Muzaffarnagar to Laxmi Nagar.

Ridiculing the BJP ruled states for renaming of at least 25 towns and villages across India in the past one year.
BJP in its election manifesto has stated that the party will distribute one lakh cows free of cost every year,Owaisi said he wanted to know whether the party would give him a cow. “They have to give and it is my responsibility. Indeed, I will respect it. But first tell me, will you give me a cow or not?” he said.
