Patna, Feb 3 : At the ‘Jan Akanksha Rally’ in Patna, Congress president Rahul Gandhi kicked off its poll campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha elections and said that the alliance of the Opposition parties will form the next government at the Centre and in Bihar.

” Tejashwi ji yuva neta hain, kaam karke dikhate hain, jhooth nahi bolte hain aur hum sab milkar izzat se, pyaar se, ek saath Lok Sabha mein aur uske ekdum baad Vidhan Sabha mein gathbandhan ki sarkar banane ja rahe hain,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Gandhi announced a loan waiver for all farmers across the country if the party comes to power.

Congress governments in the heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have started delivering on it too within days of coming to power.

“Loan waiver will be granted to all the farmers across the country if the Congress comes to power,” Rahul Gandhi said at a rally in Patna today, sharing stage with ally Tejashwi Yadav, Sharad Yadav and other opposition leaders from the state.

It was the first public rally organised by the Congress party at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan in nearly thirty years as earlier, Gandhi’s father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had addressed the rally in the same ground.

Rahul launched a blistering attack against the Narendra Modi, asking where are the jobs that his government promised. Gandhi said Modi keeps talking about his baseless schemes, but has done nothing for Patna University. “He keeps talking, but has not given education or jobs to the youth of Bihar government .”

“Modi ji, you said you’ll provide 2 Lakh jobs every year. Did anyone receive jobs? No. I had promised farm loan will be waived off within 10 days in MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan,” Gandhi said while addressing the crowd.

While addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi promises to provide central tag for Patna University if the Congress comes to power in the Centre. He said, “If Congress comes to power at Center, Patna University will be given the status of central university.”

“PM Modi makes big promises, but the reality is that he is giving farmers only Rs. 17 per day. PM Modi comes on TV says he doesn’t like Rs. 500 note and the Rs. 1000 note.

Gandhi accused PM Modi of helping his industrialist friends to help them turn their black money to white. Notebandi was the biggest scam in the world. PM Modi promised Rs. 15 lakh to everybody did anyone get it? For the industrialists, the former BJP state government in Madhya Pradesh waived off loans worth crores for industrialists, and we had promised that the Congress would waive off loans in MP for farmers and we did not take even 10 days.
