BJP Bhagao, Desh Bachao rally: Nitish does not follow any principles, says Lalu

Patna, Aug 27: Addressing at ‘Desh Bachao, BJP Bhagao’ rally in Bihar capital Patna on Sunday, Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Yadav said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar does not follow any principles.

RJD chief stated that Kumar was jealous of Tejashwi Yadav because of his work.

On the formation of new government in Bihar, Yadav said he had never seen two parties of different ideologies coming together.

Launching a scathing attack on Bihar CM, he said the CBI conducted raids at my house on Nitish Kumar’s direction.

Lalu’s rally showcased the strength of Opposition parties. As Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Rebel Janata Dal-United leader Sharad Yadav, Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav attended the grand rally.

Speaking at the grand anti-BJP rally Senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad said all leaders of national parties are with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Azad also brought recorded a message of Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, in which she asked how many people got employment in three years?

She said it’s time to decide which ideology the nation should follow.

Meanwhile, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a visit to Norway also sent a message for an eventful rally. Bihar Congress President Dr Ashok Chaudhary read out his speech. Rahul,

He congratulated RJD chief for holding the rally and criticised the Centre by saying his government failed to fulfil the promises that it made to the people in 2014.

Leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav: In his 25-minute long speech, Yadav targetted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP.

Nitish was like an uncle and will always be, doesn’t know what was the fear which lead him to break the alliance, he said.

Yadav further added CM  has insulted the mandate given by the people of Bihar and called a political turncoat who is greedy for power.

Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav: BJP is a digital party and they should watch the strength of opposition leader. He said we want to make India a country of youngsters and farmers. we all have to work together to save the nation.

Rebel JD-U leader Sharad Yadav: Vowed to form a “Grand Alliance” at the national level to defeat and drive out the BJP-led NDA in the upcoming general elections.

He warned people that a nexus of politics and religion was dangerous. “If politics and religion mix, it will create trouble like what happened in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.”


“I will fight till my last breath. I am a member of Parliament for last 43 years but i will not hesitate to fight to protect the country from decisive force, he added.”

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee: Training guns at Bihar CM, Banerjee said he canvassed votes in the name of Lalu name and look what happened.

Targeting the centre, she said Modi government is using the CBI to threaten RJD chief.

She asked Three years have passed, where are these Achhe din? adding we know the voice of people.

Congress’ C.P. Joshi, NCP’s Tarique Anwar, RLD’s Choudhary Jayant Singh, CPI’s Sudhakar Reddy and former Jharkhand Chief Ministers Hemant Soren of the JMM and Babulal Marandi of the JVM, AIUDF chief Baadruddin Azmal, and leaders from DMK, JD-S and RSP were also present in the Anti-BJP rally.

Close to 1.5 lakh people gathered at Gandhi Maidan to attend the grand event, despite the floods in the state.

Patna goes green as RJD workers, wearing caps and holding green flags and banners, have put up hundreds of welcome arches and hoardings in green in and around Patna, on all roads leading to the historic Gandhi Maidan, where the rally will take place.
