4, October: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PERMA) has announced about the airing of Indian content in Pakistan on the condition of reciprocity.
Earlier, PREMA on Saturday has said that no Indian TV channel can be regarded or viewed in Pakistan, but on Monday the body unanimously decided that Pemra will only allow airtime to Indian content if India allows airtime to Pakistani content.
PERMA in a statement said that the government has been requested to make Indian content to air in Pakistan only on the condition when the Pakistani content will be aired in India. Federal Government has also got the summary regarding the matter.
Last month, Pemra said it would launch a crackdown on illegal Indian DTH and airing of excessive foreign content by TV channels and cable operators.
