Jammu and Kashmir, Sep 13, 2016: On the eve of Eid-Ul-Zuha, three people have been killed and several wounded during clashes between security personnel and protesters in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday as all the 10 districts of Valley observes Eid under a strict curfew to prevent violence as separatists have called a protest march in Srinagar after the prayers.
Authorities rebuffed Eid congregation in Srinagar and all others major cities and towns to avoid large scale violence. People could offer prayers only in mosques.
Militants hurled a grenade at the Sherbagh police station in Anantnag town on Tuesday evening which killed two young civilians, Mustafa Mir and Shahid Ahmed on the spot with 17 others injured. Jallaluddin, 45, died of a heart attack during a clash with police in Awantipora town of Pulwama district.
Earlier, Mobile internet and cell phone services have been partially blocked ahead of the festival, the second such disruption since July 9, the day after security services shot dead Burhan Wani, a 22-year-old militant known for his calls to arms on social media.
