‘NRC’ to save Bengali Hindus from annihilation: RSS WB Secretary

Kolkata, Sep 18: RSS West Bengal Secretary Jishnu Basu on Tuesday said that the ‘National Register of Citizens the only option to save Bengali Hindus from annihilation from West Bengal.

“NRC is the only option to save Bengali Hindus from annihilation from West Bengal. Bangladeshi Hindus who have faced several atrocities are coming here and Citizenship Amendment Bill would be helpful for them”, he told ANI.

“On the other hand, if we allow Bangladeshi Muslims to come to West Bengal, then in several districts Hindus are becoming a minority. If we don’t have NRC, we will not be able to assess the no. of infiltrators”.

Basu further said that bordering districts in West Bengal are most affected areas.

“We are trying to make small groups to help propagate facts about NRC and Citizenship Amendment Bill. We are a social organisation, we can only make people aware of facts”, he added.

In July, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Assam governmen released the complete draft of the NRC which included the names of 2,89,83,677 out of a total of 3,29,91,384 applicants.

It excluded 40,07,707 applicants’ names due to some discrepancies.
