Lucknow, Sep 29: Uttar Pradesh is ready to start online application for Driving licences from October 1, an official informed on Thursday.
Presently, the online process is the only option in Lucknow, while the other 74 districts go with the manual process.
The transport commissioner had directed all Regional Transport Office’s (RTO) to go with the new system without fail.
The move is taken to reduce graft in the licensing process.
In a circular issued to all RTO’s, Transport Commissioner K Ravindra Naik ordered officials of Unnao, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Sitapur, Kanpur rural, Etawah, Farukkhabad, Kannauj, Banda, Manure, Firozabad, Badayun, Etah, Rampur and Shahjahanpur to meet the October 1 deadline for the online registration process.
Districts named Lucknow, Faizabad, Basti, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Agra, Jhansi, Saharanpur, Meerut, Noida, Moradabad, Bareilly and Aligarh are already online.
