June 4, Sunday : Senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav on Sunday opposed Amar Singh’s comeback in the party last year and said he has no plans to take him in his Samajawadi Secular Front party.
“I was not in favour of Amar Singh joining SP again. I knew he will not be getting due respect and one should avoid…You can ask anyone I was not in his favour”, Yadav told news agency PTI.
Singh was suspended from the SP along with then Rampur MP Jaya Prada in February 2010 over the charges of anti-party activities, after which he formed his own party named Lok Manch.
Later, last year in May he rejoined the Smajwadi Party. When Akhilesh Yadav became became SP chief , Amar was again expelled from the party on January this year.
During state assembly polls, Akhilesh Yadav termed Amar Singh as an “Outsider”.
Amar Singh is speculated as a close aide of Mulayam Singh, duo were seen together at a function in Lucknow. Later they kept meeting frequently despite of his expulsion.
