No time for ‘Upavas’ PM Modi, Speak up on Kathua, Unnao rape case: Sibal


New Delhi, April 11: Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said it’s not a time for observing a day-long fast but to speak up as the very soul of womanhood violated at Kathua and Unnao. 

Taking to Twitter, Sibal Stated “No time for ‘Upavas’ dear PM. Speak up: the very soul of womanhood violated at Kathua and Unnao .

Targetting the Prime Minister, he questioned if ‘Beti Bachao’ is just a slogan.

In another tweet, the former union minister stated “Judiciary must collectively stand up to Government. Capitulation not a constitutional option . Posterity will not forgive you if you do”.

An eight-year-old girl was kidnapped, raped and murdered in Rasana village in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district in January.

While Unnao rape case victim is seeking justice since last year.

On April 9, the father of the 12-year-old girl who tried to set herself on blaze outside the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s residence a day earlier alleging police inaction in her gang rape by a BJP MLA died under police custody.
