New Delhi, July 15: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh clearly said that he has no issues with Navjot Singh Sidhu and claimed that he is yet to see the letter, therefore , will see what can be done after reading his resignation letter.
CM Amarinder Singh has said, “I am in Delhi and the letter was sent to my residence, I am yet to see it,” CM Amrinder Singh told media on Monday.
” I have no issues with him, I had in fact given him a very important portfolio after the reshuffle. It was his decision to quit the Cabinet. I have been told that he has sent the letter to my office, will go through it and then see what is to be done,” Amarinder Singh said.
Sidhu, who has been at loggerheads with Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and was stripped off key portfolios in the cabinet reshuffle in June, has sent his resignation to the Punjab CM on Monday.
CM Amarinder Singh said that he never opposed Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife.
“I have never opposed Mrs Sidhu,in fact I was the one who recommended to Rahul Ji that she contests from Bathinda. It was Sidhu who said that his wife will not contest from Bathinda but from Chandigarh. So it was not for him to decide this, party decides these things,” Amarinder siad.
Earlier Navjot Singh Sidhu had sent his resignation to Congress President Rahul Gandhi instead of Amarinder Singh.
On Sunday, Sidhu had made his resignation letter, he sent to Rahul Gandhi on June 10, public. It was sent four days after his portfolio was changed.
“I hereby resign as Minister from the Punjab Cabinet,” Sidhu said in the letter to the Congress chief, which he posted on his Twitter handle on Sunday.
